Oops, my bad, I was looking at so many motherboards that I missed the fact that the new motherboard (thanks for that) has two SATA ports less than the old one. So I had to reorganize my hardware. As a replacement for the old SATA drive (containing pictures and all files for the Secret Lair) I will get a new M.2 SSD and because the drive with the OS should always be the newest hardware I will use it for the OS, the old OS M.2 SSD will be used for the pictures and files for the Secret Lair. But it will take some time until it arrives. That's why I can't upload Melissa's latest work file at the moment. It's always the same old song: It takes a little patience. Thank you for that.

Exception for Platinum supporters. Because the WIP folder is not in the jAlbum application (software that runs the Secret Lair), I can update files via FTP, so the actual page could be updated.

Only a third of the short movie is finished, and the file is over 43 MiB (in 8k) and 1:06 long. I have been looking for a better AI text to speech application, but couldn't find any. I can't afford the ones that want money for it. No idea if they offer better results. The free services only bring a voice that sounds like it's just reading, no way to influence the mood of the voice. Self-recorded voices that can be transferred to Kim's voice are only possible with the non-free services. If anyone of you has the possibility to get a really good erotic AI TTS voice of KP, contact me! Please and thank you.

There's just too much going on right now. After less than half a year, my satellite receiver broke. To install an image file on the new one, I need a PC on the same network, but I only have one LAN connection. The PC, or more precisely the motherboard, has problems with the temperature sensors and, as I just found out, the integrated WLAN is no longer working either. So I have to wait until a new motherboard arrives, hopefully tomorrow, which I can reassemble until my fingers bleed, and then install the receiver. (By the way, the company I bought this motherboard from, almost two years ago, didn't answer me. So they lost a customer and will get some negative reviews.)

Last Thursday, I went to refill the tit dumpling container (I like tits) hanging on my bathroom window when someone was looking at me from there. When I pointed out to this intruder that the contents of this cage were not for him, he probably got angry and jumped at my face. I managed to dodge, but I was too slow to catch a flying mouse, and since I was standing by the open window, Mr. Mouse landed in the bathroom and was gone. So that same day (it was my weekly shopping day anyway) I bought a trap and today was the day. Gotcha. My first guest in this apartment and I have to put him in jail. Tomorrow he will be taken to the forest if he survives the night.

Even though I reported my motherboard problem a few hours before business hours, the company didn't respond last Thursday. Friday was a holiday, Saturday and Sunday they don't work, and this Monday is also a holiday. Yay, great. So it will take a while if they answer at all.

But I read on the internet that the chip that causes the wrong temperature to be displayed is quite known for this problem, the "nct6798" chip. What caused my graphics card (the old and the new one) to disappear from the sensors is unknown to me. The card works, but the system doesn't know it anymore. Weird.

Other than that, my system runs fine, but having problems with temperature sensors is a serious problem. If something overheats, not even the motherboard can react if the problem is not reported and therefore not noticed. And by the time I smell something, it may be too late. The sad fact is that nowadays, if you have something with lots of different tiny parts, like a motherboard, a cheap part fails and you have to buy a new one, because a repair is more expensive, unless you have the equipment and skills to repair it yourself... and the time to do it.

Only someone who hasn't been following this blog will wonder why it took so long to get this result, nothing happens in 37 seconds except for Kim's blinking eye. And I can't even say how long the finished movie will be or how long it will take to make.

The disclaimer at the beginning is spoken by AI Kim. The problem with using AI voices is that I can't afford a really good AI service. The free text-to-speech process doesn't have any way of influencing the speed, emphasis or emotions, and this "AI" still makes a lot of mistakes, it's still at the beginning of this technique, so currently it's just "take it or leave it". I will probably try to record my own voice which will then be transferred to Kim's or Ann's voice, maybe that will be more what I need for this short movie. After all, I want to let her say what the situation calls for, and I don't want to change the whole story to fit what I already have on voice samples.

Update for my actual hardware problems: It wasn't the graphics card, it was the motherboard. I contacted the company that sold the motherboard, the two year warranty expires next month. I hope they will accept the error and help me out. I'll keep you posted.

Two and a half years ago I got a new graphics card for my PC. I don't understand why others have their hardware running for many years and I always get problems after two or three years, the usual planned obsolescence. For a few weeks I've been watching the sensors, which sometimes show strange data, like the motherboard has a temperature of -10°C (14°F), which is absolute nonsense (my PC is right next to my bed where I work), this happens only by chance. But now I'm not getting any sensor data from my graphics card (see image), so I don't know what the temperature is, or if the fan is still spinning. I can't help it, I had to order a new graphics card, this time with a passive cooler. Next thing to replace might be the motherboard...
