Gagala News (G-log #3)

Information for supporters and interested parties

I don't have to follow a strict script. When a new idea comes to me, I try to make it happen. However, I wonder about the sounds in a KP episode. I don't only mean music playing over the dialogue, which can't always be separated using an AI tool to isolate the speech. No, the sound itself is often distorted. It can even be seen sometimes when using a tool like OcenAudio. This is strange because the picture quality is excellent. However, it seems that compressing the sound (A52 codec, also known as AC3) drastically reduces the quality. Noises are also difficult to work with in dialogues, so AI is overstrained (currently still). Whether there were unwanted noises in the original sound is unknown to me. This means that I can't manipulate the original dialogue, such as making the text spoken slower or faster; the sound quality is too poor for that. Only in exceptional cases does this work.

In short, I can't use the original dialogues the way I'd like, and AI text-to-speech applications are still far from useful. They mostly read the given text as if someone were reading a letter. Professional applications are too expensive for me.

I have many great ideas for the dialogue in my short animation, but I can't use them the way I want to. I think it would be better to have no dialogue than subpar dialogue. I'll try my best.

Scene 14 is in progress, but I can’t say how many more scenes will come. The animation currently has a total length of one minute and 28 seconds. Platinum supporters can see it in the WIP folder.

Check the Scheduler/WIP tab for the actual status.

This work file is now available in the Special Folders for supporters, in 2k (Silver, 1080p height), 4k (Gold, 2160p) or 8k (Platinum, 4320p) size depending on the tier. Click on "Images taken in the past ..." at the bottom.

Thank you so much for your patience and generous support!

The animation is currently at scene 12 and is halfway done. Kim has been animated with 12 frames (four main frames with three intermediate stages) and is wearing her pajama pants; the top will follow later. The animation will repeat several times, but Kim's top will drop after the third or fourth repetition. This scene should be finished tomorrow.

I also want to create a censored version in 720p resolution once the animation is finished, but that will require a lot of work, especially when the object moves far. However, I'm still a rookie with the Shortcut app. I did a test on how to censor a video; you can see it here.

I made the first melody myself (except for the guitar solo), but I found a nice music clip that I will use for the last scenes and end credits. I have a license from BenSound.com to use it for free.

Thanks for your patience!

Thanks to PhillipThe2 for his help with the text, the four-page comic "Panty Shot" is finally finished.

This file is now available in the Special Folders for supporters.

I will now concentrate on the short animation "KP: Busted" only. After that, I will work on a short comic with Li'l Kim (safe for work).

Thank you, my beloved supporters, for your endless patience and generous support that keeps me going. Big bear hug!

Last frame in progress

The final frame is currently being worked on, and I'm aiming to complete the last page of the Melissa Comix "Panty Shot" by tomorrow. After that, I will work solely on the short animation "KP: Busted" until it's finished.

Thank you very much for your endless patience and generous support!

Melissa Comix "Panty Shot", last page, last frame with Ms. Murawski. I have added one more small frame, so this page will have 16 frames in total.

Just in: A new masterpiece by PhillipThe2 is now available in the Special Folders for supporters.

Thanks Phil, you did a great job again!

A bit more than two year ago I purchased a new laptop. Now guess what... riiight, it's time to make trouble again. The screen no longer works properly, either the graphics card or the cables to it refuse to work properly. Even though I only got it as a spare system and only used it every two weeks for updates, it worked as it should, but only within the warranty period. Redundant obsolescence again. I will try to use it as long as possible, as long as the bugs on the screen are tiny.

Thanks for supporting me.

"Executive producer, contributes to a film's budget and usually does not work on set"

This means that YOU (if you are a supporter of mine) are one of my executive producers of the short movie and will be named in the credits. If your username contains a surname (if recognizable as such), it will be shortened to protect your privacy. But you have to be a supporter from February '25 until the movie is finished. If you don't want to be mentioned, please contact me and your username will be removed from the credits.

The short movie is now titled: KP: Busted File name: KiMom007

Oops, my bad, I was looking at so many motherboards that I missed the fact that the new motherboard (thanks for that) has two SATA ports less than the old one. So I had to reorganize my hardware. As a replacement for the old SATA drive (containing pictures and all files for the Secret Lair) I will get a new M.2 SSD and because the drive with the OS should always be the newest hardware I will use it for the OS, the old OS M.2 SSD will be used for the pictures and files for the Secret Lair. But it will take some time until it arrives. That's why I can't upload Melissa's latest work file at the moment. It's always the same old song: It takes a little patience. Thank you for that.

Exception for Platinum supporters. Because the WIP folder is not in the jAlbum application (software that runs the Secret Lair), I can update files via FTP, so the actual page could be updated.

Take care, stay healthy!
